Before meeting Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was already known to the world for her role as Rachel Zane, in the hit series Suits. The TV show aired its final season in 2019, however, Meghan decided to leave after Prince Harry.

Her final scene aired on the season 7 finale, which aired in 2018, where she married Mike Ross. The news of her departure was announced via Twitter in November 2017, a day after her engagement to Prince Harry was announced. Since she was now a part of the royals, it’s been reported the family had some ‘strict’ rules for her final scenes. In particular, her wedding dress.

Royal family’s ‘strict rule’ for Meghan Markle’s final scenes on Suits

In the final episode of the hit TV show, Rachel Zane, played by Meghan Markle married long-time love interest Mike Ross, before marrying Harry in real life.

As Meghan was about to join the royal family, they apparently had some strict rules for her final scenes, including her wedding dress, author Tom Bower claims, in his book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors.

The author claims all Suit scripts had to be sent to Kensington Palace for approval. “Aaron Kosh was told to submit all future Suits scripts to Nick Collins, Meghan’s agent,” he writes.

“Scripts were thereafter forwarded to Kensington Palace for approval. Orders for changes of words were sent back from London to Los Angeles,” he wrote.

However, the author writes that the most important demand was in her very last scene, her wedding to Mike.

The Palace reportedly ordered no photographs to be shot of Meghan in her wedding dress, and “between filming, she was always to wear a jacket over the dress.”

Meghan’s fictional wedding dress was vastly different to the one she wore at her royal wedding. In the show, she wore a sleeveless floral number.

In real life, she wore a more plain, long-sleeved dress, which a huge veil, designed by British fashion designer Clare Waight Keller, artistic director of the fashion house Givenchy.

Meghan and Harry could be ‘making a return to TV’

Although the Duchess of Sussex departed from Suits, since leaving the royal family, the couple has appeared in their own Netflix documentary, and it looks like they could be returning to the small screen.

It’s been reported that they’re in talks to star in the Kardashians, as publications report momager Kris Jenner is eager to get them on screen.

“It’s no coincidence that the Kardashians all move in the same circles as Meghan’s new circle. It’s just a slam dunk for the two families to team up, but Kris doesn’t want to push too aggressively, too soon,” an insider told Bella Magazine.

However, reports claim that talks are in the “early stages” so if the cameo were to happen, it probably won’t be anytime soon.
