Class of ’09 is about to become one of your latest obsessions. The upcoming thriller follows FBI agents who must grapple with how artificial intelligence has altered the U.S. justice system across multiple decades and interweaving timelines. The series stars Brian Tyree Henry as an unorthodox agent named Tayo and Kata Mara as a successful undercover agent named Poet.
The show also stars Raúl Castillo, Jake McDorman, Sepideh Moafi, Brian J. Smith, Jon Jon Briones, Brooke Smith, and Rosalind Eleazar. Class of ’09 was created by Tom Rob Smith, whose previous credits include The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.
Given the fascinating (and timely) premise behind this new miniseries, many avid TV watchers are interested in discovering where they can watch it. FX is producing the series, but what does that mean for your average television consumer?
No, Class of ’09 is an FX Productions series, so it will not be on Netflix. Even though some FX shows used to stream on Netflix, like Sons of Anarchy and American Horror Story, they’ve mostly all been removed by now and moved to Disney-backed services like Hulu or Disney+.
Fans of Kate Mara can watch her in the Netflix Original series House of Cards, while Brian Tyree Henry fans can check out Bullet Train, Woman in the Window, If Beale Street Could Talk, The Magician’s Elephant, Vivo, and Irreplaceable You, all featuring the Oscar-nominated actor.
The only place you can watch the new show starring Brian Tyree Henry and Kate Mara is on Hulu. Even though FX produces it, there aren’t plans for a linear airing just yet. For now, plan on getting a Hulu subscription to watch the entire show uninterrupted.
Two episodes premiere on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, followed by one episode dropping each Wednesday until the final on June 21, 2023, making the show eight episodes total.
Are you looking forward to watching Class of ’09 this week? Are you disappointed the series won’t be on Netflix?
