It’s hard to believe that when the 1996 film Matilda first came out, it wasn’t a box office success. By today’s standards, it’s a fan-favorite movie that provides nostalgia for many and is one families enjoy watching together. That’s why it’s great that the fantasy comedy is streaming on Netflix! So who stars in the production?

The movie is centered around the titular character, Matilda Wormwood, who has a “crude, distant” parents Harry and Zinnia, per the synopsis. If that wasn’t enough for the six-year-old young girl to deal with, she also has “terrifyingly strict” Principal Agatha Truchbull at school. When she finds out she has the power of telekinesis, Matilda is able to defend her friends at school and herself against her parents.
