He earned an A.A. in business from the University of Maryland's program in Germany. He worked as a mortgage broker before turning to music.

Trivia

He wrote the hit song "Yeah" by Usher, which landed at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade for 2000 to 2009.

Family Life

He was born Garrett Hamler in Atlanta, Georgia, but goes by the stage name Sean Garrett. His father was in the US military.
