Itâs no secret Prince William and Harry no longer have the best brotherly relationship, and now one expert claims the eldest sibling has come to a âdifficult realizationâ about his sibling.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the royal family in 2020, and havenât looked back since. However, his relationship with his brother Prince William has become severely strained, with the coupleâs Netflix doc and bombshell revelations in the Dukeâs memoir, Spare. After four years of living thousands of miles apart, it looks like there may be no way back for the brothers.
Prince William âdoesnât need Harry anymoreâ claims expert
Since leaving for the US, Harry has visited the UK a handful of times, with notable events including Queen Elizabeth IIâs funeral and King Charlesâ coronation. However, the brothers arenât thought to have had much, if any, interaction.
âIncreasingly, as time goes on, William realizes he really doesnât need Harry anymore,â royal author Tom Quinn told The Mirror. âHe feels Harry has been the complete opposite of a supporting younger brother, and everything he does makes Williamâs life more difficult.â
âHarry is also a reminder of past trauma and upset which William sees as very damaging to the monarchy and anything that damages the monarchy damages Williamâs future and that of his heir Prince George,â the expert continues.
Quinn has previously claimed William and Kate Middleton have tried to âend their feudâ with the Sussexes.
âThere has been a shift here since Kateâs illness â Harry and Meghan do feel they need to extend an olive branch, but Meghanâs sense of grievance is still preventing anything really meaningful from happening,â he claimed to the publication.
When the Princess announced her cancer diagnosis to the world, it was reported Meghan and Harry didnât find out until shortly before the TV broadcast, in an attempt to stop them from âspilling the beans.â
Prince Harry to return to the UK next month â but Meghanâs presence is uncertain
The Duke is set to return to the UK next month to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. It is not yet known whether he will be joined by his wife, but reports suggest she âdoesnât feel safeâ going to the country, an insider told OK! Magazine.
However, itâs said Harry has âpleadedâ his wife to join him for his first âproperâ visit to his home country since his father was diagnosed with cancer.
Harry did visit shortly after his fatherâs announcement, however, it was a âflying visitâ in which he only met the monarch for a matter of minutes.
As the couple moved from the country four years ago, the King has only seen his grandson, Prince Archie a handful of times, and granddaughter Princess Lilibet just once at the Queenâs Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
