It’s no secret Prince William and Harry no longer have the best brotherly relationship, and now one expert claims the eldest sibling has come to a ‘difficult realization’ about his sibling.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the royal family in 2020, and haven’t looked back since. However, his relationship with his brother Prince William has become severely strained, with the couple’s Netflix doc and bombshell revelations in the Duke’s memoir, Spare. After four years of living thousands of miles apart, it looks like there may be no way back for the brothers.

Prince William ‘doesn’t need Harry anymore’ claims expert

Since leaving for the US, Harry has visited the UK a handful of times, with notable events including Queen Elizabeth II‘s funeral and King Charles‘ coronation. However, the brothers aren’t thought to have had much, if any, interaction.

“Increasingly, as time goes on, William realizes he really doesn’t need Harry anymore,” royal author Tom Quinn told The Mirror. “He feels Harry has been the complete opposite of a supporting younger brother, and everything he does makes William’s life more difficult.”

“Harry is also a reminder of past trauma and upset which William sees as very damaging to the monarchy and anything that damages the monarchy damages William’s future and that of his heir Prince George,” the expert continues.

Quinn has previously claimed William and Kate Middleton have tried to ‘end their feud’ with the Sussexes.

“There has been a shift here since Kate’s illness – Harry and Meghan do feel they need to extend an olive branch, but Meghan’s sense of grievance is still preventing anything really meaningful from happening,” he claimed to the publication.

When the Princess announced her cancer diagnosis to the world, it was reported Meghan and Harry didn’t find out until shortly before the TV broadcast, in an attempt to stop them from “spilling the beans.”

The Duke is set to return to the UK next month to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. It is not yet known whether he will be joined by his wife, but reports suggest she “doesn’t feel safe” going to the country, an insider told OK! Magazine.

However, it’s said Harry has ‘pleaded’ his wife to join him for his first ‘proper’ visit to his home country since his father was diagnosed with cancer.

Harry did visit shortly after his father’s announcement, however, it was a ‘flying visit’ in which he only met the monarch for a matter of minutes.

As the couple moved from the country four years ago, the King has only seen his grandson, Prince Archie a handful of times, and granddaughter Princess Lilibet just once at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
