Jim Valvano - Trivia, Family, Bio

Head coach who led North Carolina State University to a classic NCAA Championship in 1983.  He famously celebrated on the court after his team won the title.

Before Fame

He played college basketball at Rutgers University, starting at point guard from 1964 to 1967.

Trivia

He announced the V Foundation for cancer research in a memorable ESPY speech.  The speech has gone down in history as one of the most famous cancel related speeches of all-time.

Family Life

He had three daughters, Nicole, Jamie, and Lee Ann, with his wife Pamela Levine.
